Having arrived in Tamriel thousands of years ago from Aldmeris, from which they draw their name, the Altmer or High Elves are a cultured people, known for their architecture and scholarly as well as creative works. They perceive a right to rule Tamriel given their time in it; in spite of their history as isolationists, remaining secluded on the Summerset Isles. The Altmer are members of the Aldmeri Dominion, lead by the Altmer Queen Ayrenn.
